SIX PACK ABS

We all want 6 pack abs but there is more to getting that ripped look than JUST exercise.

You have to modify your diet as well. Avoiding constipation, limiting carbs, reducing dairy ,keeping on top of your hormone level and exercise are all key things to focus on.

Here are some tips to get a flat belly

1. Rev up your fiber intake

Whole grains, veggies, legumes, seeds and nuts are great to add to your diet if you need to increase your fiber intake.

2. Cut the carbs

Drinking alcohol and consuming foods that are high in carbs is not the way to go

if you want a flat belly. A high carb intake can clause water retention.

3. Limit your salt intake

We have all heard that you retain water and salt is one of the main culprits. Not only is a diet high in sodium bad for your blood pressure but it can create a lot of other health problems. Your body only needs 2000-2500mg of salt a day so start watching the sodium.

4. Check your hormone levels

Women in their 30's, 40's and 50's need to watch out for the belly bloat.

Rising hormone levels during the 2 weeks leading up to your period this will slow down your digestive process and can cause your GI track to go crazy. Constipation and gas are likely.

Find a good health care specialist to address changing hormone levels.

5. Exercise

Build lean muscle and if you are incorporating ab exercises make sure you think of the "navel to spine" cue. You can build your muscle outward so keep your torso long. Make sure you stretch your abs as well, they need stretching too.
